About Brandon Blumenherst
Hey, everyone! From a young age, I’ve always been driven to make a difference. Whether through my volunteer work at various nonprofits, leading groups in high school, or supporting campaigns since 2017, I’ve always sought ways to serve my community. Now, I’m excited about the opportunity to serve on the Wayne Township Board and have a direct impact on people’s lives.
I’ve lived in Fort Wayne almost my entire life. After graduating from Homestead High School as the Senior Class President, I earned a full-ride scholarship to Purdue University Fort Wayne, where I graduated as a University Exemplar, earning two Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science and Communication, with minors in Media Production and Public Relations.
While in school, I worked on campaigns and held leadership roles, including Vice Chair of the Allen County Young Democrats and Vice Chair of the Allen County Democratic Party for three years. I knocked on thousands of doors and made countless calls for Democratic candidates, including working on the successful 2019 municipal coordinated campaign that helped re-elect Mayor Tom Henry and flip two city council at-large seats. I also managed State Representative Kyle Miller's campaigns in 2018, 2020, and his primary campaign in 2022.
After college, I continued my mission-driven career, first working for a nonprofit health system in South Bend and now for a political tech company. I’m passionate about politics because I believe it can be a powerful force for change — but only when we elect leaders who are committed to creating that change.
If elected, I would bring a new perspective to Allen County government as one of the county’s youngest elected officials, its only union member in elected office, and one of the first openly LGBTQ+ elected officials in northeast Indiana history.
I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail and hope to earn your vote on or before November 3, 2026.
